Pros

A few employees of this facility will treat you with respect. Package Handlers get free food every now and then. Facility is mostly clean. Offices are new and somewhat updated. There are opportunities for advancement. Yearly pay increase. When the weather is hot in the summer they usually have gatorades made available to everyone.

Cons

You will be hired as part time (6 hours) but when you get going they expect you to work longer hours close to 8-12 hour days and sometimes more. Then they expect you to cut back the hours but throw on more work. You will also be met with unrealistic expectations and you will be conditioned to work Package Handlers harder than humanly possible. Upper management treats mid level managers very poorly. People feel constantly disrespected in this facility across all 3 separate operations. The pay is low for the unorganized operations you have to handle daily. In the summer months temperatures within the warehouse are unbearable as there is no climate control in the summer months, package handlers leaving the twilight shift when I come in for the later shift are usually soaked as they leave the building. Very limited drug testing occurs.

Pros

The pros is that you can pick up extra shifts whenever you want if you want to make some extra cash. The scheduling is very flexible they let you pick what days you want. Tuesday through Saturday, or Monday through Friday, or Sunday through Thursday.

Cons

Some of the workers with very lazy and sometimes the management takes up for the lazy workers while overworking the people that actually work. This is not good they will lose good workers if bad managers keep doing this. You can't please everybody and lazy workers need to start shaping up and do what the job pays you to do. No joke some workers that I've worked with before say they can't even lift 30 lb if they can't lift 30 pounds at least put them on smalls with reduced pay since somehow they ended up getting hired but not actually being able to do the job. Some of these workers are in their 20s and 30s and are fully able-bodied there's no way they shouldn't be able to lift 30 lb if you can lift groceries and other daily objects you can lift a 30 lb box.

Pros

FedEx takes a great deal of pride in company culture.

Cons

My career at FedEx leaves me feelinig ethically defeated, day after day. Wall Street rules all decision making, too often at the detriment of "doing what's right" for the customer. On a daily basis I have decisions thrust upon me that a completely void of truth or sound reasoning. When I consistently bring up these issues, you get the "you'll need to talk to someone in XXX department", and there begins the endless circle of being brushed off or turned away. As I deal with these issues of morality and knowing whats right in my heart....I am still the person that needs to deliver the message to customers. I am so tired of trying to explain decsions that I dont agree with, decisions that we all know are nothing short of theft. Consistently put in a bad position everyday and desperately trying turn around this giant machine that has become too large for its own good. FedEx has lost its way.
