I have long-time experience on phones for larger financial institutions I showed up to fidelity with extended experience and knowledge I made sure to share but got a starting hourly lower than what I originally got out of college with no experience. I however gave this company a chance because I thought their culture seemed good training was fine and thought I would be in good hands but when I got to the floor it was soul-sucking. You get nonstop calls all day and they do nothing to help with the mental tole it takes on you. I barely have time to use the restroom or even check my email. My manager suggested I get those things done after my shift. These companies harp on efficiency but I have to do work I could easily get done during my shift after my shift because they just want warm bodies on the phones. They put so much work on the phone reps' shoulders and so much pressure, then pay us nothing. They will dangle bonuses in front of us so we will show up for busier weeks and do as they say because we are all so desperate for a pay bump. Getting a raise or a promotion is not real the jobs they offer as a "promotion" are worse hours to work and a dollar more. It's an illusion of promotion so you work positions no one would want to work usually. The worst part is the minute your metrics are somewhat out of line they will immediately threaten disciplinary action on you. I don't know what happened to the "inspiring" and "Innovative" company they sold me during training but it's much more grey in reality. Also, work-life balance is awful they will randomly just schedule PTO for you and you have to be the one to request it off your schedule. I find it funny they can change your schedule without your permission but we as workers are required to give two weeks' notice for anything that requires our schedule to be changed and we get reprimanded for it if we don't give them a proper two weeks.
