Pros

Great training, they make sure you're ready to hit the ground running. Reputable company which makes for a great first full time position on the resume.

Cons

Culture, which is a major bragging point for Gartner is quickly festering into a toxic work environment. Pay discrepancy success, and overall happiness in the role is totally dependent on which function (finance, hr, risk, gov) and you have no control in where you are placed. This leads to people in easier jobs getting paid more and getting more recognition for simply sending out generic emails a few times a week.

Pros

Great health benefits. Can engage clients in interesting discussions. Best fit for less mature salespeople to build contacts and resume.

Cons

Retaining clients is much harder than described during interviews. To reduce cancels, Sales has to stay involved in service. To overcome often huge losses, Sales must make these up so your high quota just increased. All this happens while your daily activities are micro managed for the top priority, net growth. Forget about PTO. Nonstop stress and scrutiny has more good reps leaving.

Pros

The company is growing tremendously. With new products capturing new markets, they are poised for continued acceleration. Great healtcare coverage (no copays), about two dozen PTO days, incredible management team who genuinely wants the entire team to succeed. I’ve personally learned so much from our leaders.

Cons

Product ROI and need to buy is TBD for many of the verticals. With tremendous growth, collaboration is tough to achieve consistently. Working around the clock and no flexibility to work from home. An exorbitant amount of internal, “check the box” meetings, attempting to pivot to bring in more sales. Lots of folks feel the effect of burnout.
