      Harman has more Directors than Hollywood

      Pros

      Harman has talented engineers and solid brand heritage. There are a large number of Director and VP-level positions, so there are plenty of opportunities for corporate middlemen. The CEO will remind you much money he's made you since taking over.

      Cons

      Way too many Director and VP-level positions. Stamford HQ oozes arrogance and invincibility. This company loves outsourcing, even if it costs more time and money. Harman is constantly laying off people which creates insecurity, poor morale, and a competitive, backstabbing culture. It's super cutthroat. Outdated performance review policy.

      The people within the company a great. There's a great spirit of cooperation and support across functional areas.

      There is a strong push from the highest level of management to focus on what Wall Street wants to see and not necessarily what is best for the company.
