Pros

I met a few close friends: misery loves company. We bonded from our unhappiness.

Cons

Where to start? Nepotism runs rampant throughout the company so the aspiration of a fair work environment is off the table. From the C-Suite to most of of the Leadership team, there is an expectation of group-think. If you express an opposing view, you are seen as not fitting in with the "cult"ure. There are multiple layers of approval required to implement any ideas, so creativity is suppressed. You can smell misery in the air of both buildings of HQ, I rarely saw anyone happy there. Lastly, the lack of diversity is pathetic, given the nepotism, this should not be a surprise. It frightened me that the CEO was so blind to the unhealthy dynamic between leaders, which most are morally bankrupt.

Pros

Hours were ok, some of the clients were really nice, training was good, benefits were also good. If you are good at sucking up to management you will do well.

Cons

When hired I was given a lecture about how employees are not fraternize with the clients. Which was not a problem for me, but shortly after I started, I found out that was ok, as long as you sucked up to management. Employees were even kicked off accounts due to behavior clients didn't like, but were not disciplined by management or even looked into. If you did not suck up to management, don't expect to be promoted, no matter how good of a job you do.

Pros

The pros are what you make of it. You have the chance to work your schedule the way you want. Or you did.

Cons

When I started, it was a family and team culture. Schein has become centralized and destroyed the culture of community. It is now cutthroat and forced people to undercut others to make metrics. They dangle the carrot of pay before you and now have taken away the 40 hour week. When times in the industry are hard and the market has downturned, Schein does not have your back. The anger with the boots on the ground is high. The higher ups see only their bonuses get bigger as us on the bottom struggle to pay our bills. I would not recommend anyone work for Schein at this moment. Schein's main focus is DEI and only DEI. Look at the reviews, most are management, not the boots on the ground.
