Experience of 5 years squeezed into 12 months

Cons

Awful - the department is broken for starters. TST is a surge team and abused like agency works are in the civil service. Huge issue with the country boils down to the fact that it's a game to get a senior role and not based on experienced. No senior management ability. Promises of rewards and bonuses, never came off. HR is abysmal. Well being not looked after regardless of the high priority work and the fact it's been in the news. Fear mongering. I was told I was being judged by higher grades if I did a poor job. Ended up in A & E due to stress - ignored and not even a welfare check after return to work.

Training is a farcical. Meant to be getting 9 weeks but in reality it is 4 weeks. Made to start working on asylum cases before training finishes with a deadline. Lack of communication from management. Managers are uni grads with lack of experience and do not have any understanding how stressful this role is. The low pay does not justify the amount of work that does into making a decision and the time it takes to interview. Staff turnover is very high
