Pros

- Salary is decent compared to similar level of work in private sector. - Largely left to own devices to manage own caseload, provided quality/productivity is in line with targets. - Remote working allows good work/life balance.

Cons

- Large bureaucracy with very minimal opportunity to have a say in much of worth. - Working for government may raise ethical conundrums, at least for those aware that government is the enemy of the people in this current age. - Being agency has few perks. Maternity/paternity benefits are poor or non-existent. No sick pay. - Compulsory training courses on inclusion, how to speak to people, etc., are very cringe-inducing and often feel like adults are being treated like school children with no basic awareness or social skills.
