Pros

Flexible working opps, hybrid working model, great colleagues, well equipped offices, pretty good pay. Opportunities to get involved.

Cons

Communication is patchy depending on where you work and who you work for. They often fail to "walk the talk" on many initiatives. They place too much emphasis on new and/or young talent, often ignoring older and/or more established staff for opportunities. Too many "consultants" working at a senior level, overpaid and creating additional issues for perm staff to clear up once they leave. Biggest frustration is getting slated by politicians and public for perceived failings usually instigated by Government or Government policy.

Pros

Career progression is at the forefront of The Home Office core values. They like to take staff and offer them the skills, knowledge and experience to improve all of its staff. The learning and development opportunities were amazing. I couldn’t recommend the Home Office highly enough .

Cons

Despite working there for 16 years, I didn’t experience any cons at the Home Office.
