Pros

You get to say you worked for the UK Home Office, and that you are a civil servant.

Cons

Poor quality work. No employee benefits. Behind in terms of technology. Sites are very depressing and outdated. No opportunity to WFH. Most of your pay goes on travel. No progression opportunities.
