Pros

Croydon Response Team - The way fellow Admin Officers always help each other. Pension contributions

Cons

Croydon Response Team - A target driven environment that was never mentioned at the interviews. Poor training, a bullying and weak management leading to mental anguish. A department where the most junior members of staff AOs have the most knowledge and experience. Unbelievably managers are not expected to know the work, only to ensure you do yours. Morale is low, for many reasons including bullying, favouritism, high workload, constant withdrawal of working from home privilege etc Many people looking to leave. AVOID

Pros

- Digital department has a good culture - Worthwhile interesting projects (you're not working to increase a company's profits) - Lots of tools processes and kit (although procurement can be tricky) - Good skilled people (in DDaT)

Cons

- Pay is not comparable with private sector - There can be bureaucratic obstacles, it being a government department - Home Office has work to do on its public perception - Interfacing with parts of the Home Office that use legacy processes and tech, and work in very non-streamlined ways
