Good on paper but reality is different

Pros

Flexibility and friendly colleagues. Good variety of work.

Cons

A very gradist organisation. Although there are good processes in place, it is not for junior roles. An example work from home is widely publicized but only for senior roles. Internal recruitment is not impartial as in most of the times, the hiring manager has " a candidate" in line, so very unfair and it is conducted by manager without much of HR skils.

Pros

Good administrative experience, which enhances anyone's CV looking for a career in an office environment. Meet interesting people, good rate of pay.

Cons

Very strict disciplinary procedures in place e.g. Even if your genuinely off ill on more than one occasion during a set period. Inferior training

Pros

Flexible working employer , opportunities to gain experience at higher levels although not paid or recognised for it, but does give experience for CV portfolio Good diverse employer and work life balance. Good leadership in parts of the Home office with a drive and passion to be committed to good public service. If you put yourself forward and design an appropriate business case, opportunities to shadow and second to other business areas.

Cons

Lack of investment in career development, as long as you are a self starter and willing to do with ground work yourself , you can get self develop. Putting inexperienced people in critical key roles to business due to staff shortages and a need to meet deadlines. No incentive to deliver outstanding performance.
