Pros

Good L&D opportunities - chances to learn other languages and gain skills. A good focus on informal learning on the job as well.

Cons

Poor pay and sluggish progression. There remains a pay freeze, and bottle-necks can leave people stuck in lower grades for protracted periods.

Pros

Salary is reasonable. It's interesting work. The hours give a work life balance and leave, sick and benefits policies are very good. It's a diverse mix of employees and the teams can be quite social.

Cons

Government bureaucracy. Sometimes you have to jump through hoops just to make one small change. They have complex internal systems for recording everything you do and the IT is quite poor.
