Pros

Lots of opportunity to grow, learn and take on new challenges. Exciting to be in the travel industry and company really takes care of employees with perks and benefits. Some of the most intelligent and kindest people in tech, some of which are now my life-long friends.

Cons

Completely mishandled COVID pandemic and its impact on the travel industry. Let go 40% of the company only to now have openings for those same positions 6 months later. Constantly restructuring organization structure. Poor communication between leadership and the rest of the company.

Pros

- Great people who are innovative and excited about disrupting the industry - Cool office, all the essentials are taken care of and the office orders lunch pretty regularly - Fun work environment and start up mentality

Cons

- Lack of structure - Management can be inexperienced and best practices are not always followed (depends on the department) - It's easy to feel very much a number in the company. They tend to get rid of people they do not need anymore or people who are not comfortable with changes in the job / company. - Jobs are not necessarily what is written or told to upon hiring

Pros

If you enjoy chaos, clueless management, and watching a company set itself on fire in real time, then by all means, Hopper is the place for you.

Cons

Working at Hopper is like being stuck in a group project where no one read the brief, but everyone’s pretending they did. Bad ideas, panic-driven pivots, and motivational speeches that sound like they were ripped from a LinkedIn influencer’s playbook, lead by Dakota Smith like a guy who read half a business book and decided he was a visionary. Meanwhile, Frederic Lalonde is barely around he tried launching another startup, failed, and now no one really knows what he does.
