Decent growth opportunities (if you are in the "in crowd")
Pros
Pre Covid -Remote work was a huge perk -Benefits were good. Comparable to most trendy startups (coffee, snacks, good health plan) -Like many startups career growth was booming. Quite a few folks got a career bump despite the lack of formal training/education - Colleagues that really work hard for customers, partners, and the projects they have been assigned
Cons
- Execs and upper management lack experience and hide it under needless mind games, divisive tactics, and favoritism - Common practice is to claim credit for ideas offered up by employees so as to add to one's own reputation. - Managers that do care have either been let go or have been so severely dissilusioned as to comply with the negative satus quo - Careers are made or broken on the grounds of who you know and who you're nice to - Once Covid hit, the first to be let go were people of color, mat/pat leaves, employees with visas. Unsurprisingly, even at the highest levels white males were kept over experienced women that helped build the company during it's early stages. - The CEO refused to underline BLM despite multiple POC expressing its importance to them and to their peers. - General toxic environment.
