Pros

Nice office facilities. Well-recognised global brand in the industry.

Cons

Huge difference between treating local and expat employees in terms of benefits, stock options and internal support. Local staff are not respected and have very little career progression within the company as middle/senior management tend to be Chinese-only expats appointed by HQ. HQ who do not understand local markets, however, act like commanders as opposed to facilitators. Do not tend to keep promises to low-level employees, who are clearly overworked and instructed to have mobile phone switched on 24/7. Even when on holiday at times.

Pros

brand name, few company policies are noteworthy

Cons

Too many Cons !!! # effort does not get appreciated , especially if u r a lateral entry .. if u have not joined the company as a fresher, u will always be treated as a step kid !! sounds weird, isnt it .. but thts how the work culture is .. even when getting promotion or hike/appraisal this is an imp factor # u will be demanded work as if u r born to serve the Manager/company .. # worst degree of work life balance # extremely poor financial benefit/facility when travelling on-site .. to top tht, on-site locations are to countries like Latin America, Africa, poor countries in APAC .. not worth going to any onsite location # everything is mandated by the china team (Company Headquarter) .. and is in a master-slave relation .. and the language barrier makes it worse # extremely unethical company .. least ethical tht i have seen till now ..

Pros

Decent compensation if you negotiate right Good benefits package Good amount of PTO per year Good performance based bonuses Most of the local employees and a few of the ex-pats are really good people. Have made a lot of good friends here.

Cons

Annual raises are slim to none, even if you are a top 5% performer in your annual appraisal You are expected to have no personal life and work 24 hours a day, 7 days per week to accommodate the US and HQ (China) work schedules. Travel reimbursement policy is absurd. Employee pays for all expenses up front and must seek reimbursement from the company which can take months in some cases. Even if a US VP approves your expenses, it can later get rejected by China. Very very few business decisions can be made by the US management team - most are just figureheads assigned to working with the US media. This means most decisions are ill advised by someone who may have never even been to the US market before, therefore leaving critical projects struggling with decisions and strategies that baffle the customers.
