Pros

Not much to write home about except that there are some very talented people at IBM. Some groups still allow WFH. I have worked here for 20+ years so there must have been something good but hard to quantify.

Cons

Good for top executives and 2% employees. Others are just going through the motions. No clear direction. Even the much touted Watson is bleeding money. Mobile strategy is non existent other than the Apple partnership. Cloud is struggling - most people don't have a clue on how to compete with AWS or Azure. Management identifies some people as worthy and keeps paying them all the perks. Lately, I have seen a lot of average techies become STSMs.

Pros

Resigned from IBM after almost 20 years. In that time I've had the pleasure to work with and for some of the best and brightest people in the industry. IBM has some of the most amazing technology that is superior to anything else out there. I also enjoyed a relatively flexible schedule with above average work/life balance.

Cons

Company has seen FOUR STRAIGHT YEARS of declining revenue and refuses to address this in any way other than quarterly job cuts. This has resulted in a culture of fear and mistrust. Those who have not been affected by these "resource actions" can find their workload doubling or tripling with minimal to zero compensation increase. Products are rushed to market with very little quality assurance, technical support or product education. This results in a high number customer satisfaction issues which IBM has neither the infrastructure or investment to deal with properly. IBM's first priority is to its shareholders and top executives at the expense of its customers and employees.

Pros

Safe job if you're lazy and are happy with base pay. People are great Good job to start your career It is IBM, which is one of the greatest companies in the world, so there is hope for change.

Cons

Senior Management is reluctant to change. (IBM DIGITAL SALES IRELAND) - the company's direction is clearly outlined for everyone to read however the few old Senior Managers around (thank god the center VP will retire end of year) are not driving the change this organization so desperately needs to survive in today's hanging business environment. People are non of the concern and are treated like second class beings. Managers... Your people are your asset. Imagine the cost of one employee leaving. You are ALL not doing your job! Benefits are nonexistent, a small coffee is 1,60 our (this is free almost every company in Dublin), bus transfer is 3,30 minimum per day (of course not sponsored, regular price). Digital Sales is advertising with "come work in Dublin", the company is almost in another county! (Co.Meath). The cantina is the worst I've ever eaten in. Again center management and senior leadership team do not care and are not willing to do sth. This is a so-called Sales Center. I had colleagues that never ever called a customer and still made their quota. Digital Sales has Flexi-time which basically allows you to take Friday afternoon off... In Sales... makes sense. I could go on and on but it wouldn't change anything. Just do not work in Digital Sales, it is not for the young, wild and hungry! Oh btw. WORST PAYING COMPANY IN DUBLIN
