Pros

The ONLY pros of this job is that the benefits are good if you don't require much. The high deductible medical plan is $0. I hear it sky rockets when you need a legitimate plan, or have dependents, though. The majority of the sales team are good, upbeat, kind people to be around. The operative word being majority.

Cons

There is politics everywhere, however... this brand in particular, which will remain nameless is ALL politics, to the point where it seems unlawful. People's friends with 0 sales experience getting hired, undeserved promotions, laying off individuals who were key performers based off their personal feelings toward them. The management team here is of no help. I asked my manager to help get me in touch with appropriate personnel to satisfy a customer to get a deal done, he sighed and suggested we just tell the customer to screw. This is a SALES manager?! Not once has my manager offered up valuable advice, or suggested he join my calls, or escalate issues that I need him involved in with a sense of urgency. He does a spectacular job of filling out an excel spreadsheet of all the work other people do, too. The joke of IBM standing for "I'm By Myself" in this organization is not a joke. I have never been more miserable or felt like I was working with an incapable boys club in my entire career. I feel dooped, I have not come anywhere close to hitting my on target earnings due to the absolute ridiculous, unattainable quotas put in place. It's an inside job, but at "manager discretion" a couple of people work from home, while the rest of us get a slap on the wrist if we go out for lunch. How are they "watching" these work from home folks? How is this fair? This is the worst job I've had in my entire life.
