      Good place to start your career since it offers a lot of learning opportunities. NO WORK LIFE balance.

      Pros

      A lot of technical opportunities. You can do software development for storage systems, servers, database, mobile devices, and etc. Not too many companies can offer this kind of variety. You can work with many talented engineers and learn from them. Big and exciting projects that you won't see in small companies.

      Cons

      NO work life balance. Poor senior management and unrealistic scheduling. Too many layers of senior management. I could never keep track of which VP is in charge of which VP since there are just too many VPs.

      Pros

      Very flexible work environment. Opportunity for a variety of different positions. Ability to work remotely when it fits my life. Flex time. Challenging work with lots of management and peer support.

      Cons

      Idea that "give back" is expected and necessary.

      Pros

      It pays to work in the company with a well-know name as it can tell a lot about you when you will be looking for your next job. There is a vast knowledge base available through intranet resources. You can also learn a lot from some very smart and experienced people working in the senior positions, if you get access to them.

      Cons

      Not personal and sometimes not friendly treatment from the senior management. It depends on the location of course. Also not much formal education available for non-sales employees.
