Pros

Good structure, management very knowledgeable and supportive...When you need a company to through ressouces at an account opportunity, IBM us defiuntley able to do that. They have no problem in investing in the sales cycle and have the bodies to do it.

Cons

pay is very low, compared to the industry. You need a degree in Mathematics to figure out the compe plan, and they have recently changed the comp plan for senior sales managers to actually go against the sales culture. Very disatisfied with the compensation package. With the say the comp is structure now, I am sure that IBM will lose some of it's best people.

Pros

No.1 Global Business Consulting Large Clients with lot of opportunities to grow with learning Knowledge sharing is easy and great Consulting Team at clients have good skill mix with experienced professionals and some new hires.

Cons

Large, huge, Not easy to get Noticed or Promoted More paperwork to complete with PA and PBC rather than the work at client site Promotions and compensation are based on the reporting manager who doesnt know what a consultant is doing - where it should be fro the client project manager or team lead. Growth from one position to another will take atleast 10 yrs unless we kiss a** To get a training - Is next to impossible when on a project

Pros

The work and working conditions are very reasonable for the wages paid. Work at home is a great incentive that actually improves productivity while increasing flexibility. Managers generally allow for a great deal of autonomy and trust in their employees. The means and accommodations when traveling are comfortable (no Motel 6). The opportunity for promotion and variety of profession is very good.

Cons

Constant threat of "resource actions" that could cost you your job (annual occurrence). As with any large companies, the processes are so cumbersome as to cause business losses to competitors. IBM remains the most expensive provider or products and services, but they are likely to survive downturns when their customers need them.
