Pros

Good team - my Frontend team was a good team.

Cons

🚀 PROBATION isn’t just for companies - it’s for us too. I recently CHOSE to leave my probationary role as Engineering Manager for the Frontend team — not because of my team (they were amazing 💙, and I’m thankful to have met colleagues I’ll stay connected with and always value), but because the environment showed me quickly that it wasn’t where I wanted to invest my time and energy. Some hard truths I learned (the hard way): 1️⃣ Your time + effort = your biggest capital. Spend it wisely. 2️⃣ Onboarding matters. Mine didn’t happen until month 3. 3️⃣ 1:1s matter. I asked for them for 2 months, they never happened. 4️⃣ Respect matters. Culture shows in the little things — even how HR and leaders talk to people in the kitchen. 5️⃣ Impact is possible even in 3 months. I built processes, roadmaps, and IDPs that will keep running without me. ✨ Takeaway: probation goes both ways. If an environment lacks respect, feedback, and structure — it’s not a ‘fit,’ and that’s okay. After 12 years in IT, I know where I thrive: in cultures with respectful leadership, open communication, and space to improve processes. 👉 To future employers: if that’s your culture, we’re already aligned.

We regret that this opportunity didn’t work out as we had all hoped, and we want to acknowledge the concerns you’ve raised. Your point is well taken, probation truly does go both ways. A healthy, respectful, and structured environment isn’t just a nice-to-have; it’s essential for mutual success. We hear you, and we agree that one on ones are important and generally are part of our processes, and we’re committed to reflecting on how we can do better in creating the kind of culture where everyone can thrive. Wie agree that your expectations for respectful leadership, open communication, and space to improve processes are not only valid, they should be the standard. We’re sorry that you felt your experience fell short of that during your time with us. We’re grateful for the contribution you made and for the clarity you’ve offered as we continue to grow. We hope our paths cross again in the future under better circumstances. Wishing you all the best in the next chapter!

Pros

Fairly flexible schedule, alright enough pay, occasional days off.

Cons

Constantly short staffed resulting in constant burnout of workers, pay is not competitive enough, no proper support from higher management.
