Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review about working at Indeed. It is obviously a shame to read your thoughts as we pride ourselves on having a great culture where we look after our employees. We of course know that this still takes work in some areas of the business and appreciate your feedback.

Pros

Flexible hours and good benefits.

Cons

For a company whose foundation is based on hiring, you’d expect the highest level of integrity and professionalism for Indeed. This, unfortunately, isn’t the case from Indeed Australia. Misconceptions of growth (in the AU market) and books of business with opportunity are all bogus onboarding tactics. It’s evident that unqualified staff have been placed in directorial roles. As a result, leadership is incompetent, inexperienced and negligent in their responsibilities, preferring to blame their own staff for their shortcomings. This leads to a lack of future vision, organization, and structure, not to mention an extremely toxic work environment. I would not recommend working at Indeed AU because of the distrust and lying from management, an incapable HR team, and an unrelenting negative environment.

Thank you so much for providing us detailed feedback. Although it may be hard for us to hear, we need to know what’s going on so we can take a deeper look into the experience you had working with us. You’re right, our foundation is based on hiring and we pride ourselves in our mission to help people get jobs. We have standards and processes in place to ensure our leadership has the experience, tools and resources to lead our teams effectively while maintaining a healthy, inclusive, and professional work environment. We are very sorry to hear that your experience with Indeed has been less than stellar and we take your comments seriously and will do our part to look into this. If you would like to share more confidentially, please feel free to message the Employer Brand team at inside@indeed.com so we can understand the situation. Thank you.

Pros

Working at Indeed is truly a great experience with a wealth of knowledge to be learned. Indeed is willing to invest the time into you in order to see you succeed. Sales goals are attainable however in the growth org it's difficult to grow a book as large as Indeed believes you should. Office snacks and drinks breakfast every day and lunch once a week.

Cons

Indeed is run as an organization that grew too fast and now management goes by ridiculous metrics to measure their staff instead of what really matters. Ex. Person on a sales team can spend all day talking to clients about things other than closing business and selling and gets celebrated for the amount of time on the phone as opposed to the context of what was being discussed. Whereas someone else can close business in a short amount of time and it gets glossed over because it didn't take an hour and a half to close business. - Indeed comes up with sales goals for its team without an understanding of what a book of business can actually do and you get yelled at for an account that stops spending although Indeed is non contractual and a 100K spender can choose not to spend the next day. - Sales teams are measured by number of calls made in a day and anywhere from 60-80 calls are expected and then the same sales teams are asked to do a ton of other work. - Indeed is lying to itself if it thinks this level of management is sustainable. - It feels like Indeed's culture has shifted from a fun energetic and for lack of a better word real place to being a factory workforce with robots to drill out phone calls and pray to God their quota doesn't get blown out of the water.
