Pros

A lot of amazing people across the Sydney office, you really do make friends for life at this company, this is the best thing you get out of working here. Health insurance, good super contributions. Money was great in the first couple years. There is one great director in the Sydney office, he was the first Dradis director there. He brought a lot of culture and atmosphere to the place, expanding the team from 6 to 20 people before the restructure. He somehow managed to give support to all 20 of us, which still amazes me. Best manager I’ve ever worked for, he supports his team and is always finding new ways to help them. Something you don’t find in most managers. He really goes above and beyond. If there is a reason people have chosen to stay, it is because of this director. There are other directors that are great and look out for their teams as well. Free lunch on Wednesdays and breakfast every morning, free snacks in the kitchen as well (this has been quite helpful in saving money as most people experienced a 15k-70k decrease in earnings once the restructure happened). People are saving Wednesday lunch for dinner, and breakfasts items for lunch, as apparently they can’t afford to buy their own food on their salaries now.

Cons

Unlimited PTO- a myth, if you’re in the Sales sector of the business, you’re dreaming if you think this is happening for you. For the past year, since the structure change, the sales side of the business, particularly growth, has been hit quite hard. Acquisition hasn’t been quite as bad, but many reps even on that side experience if they have done quite well one quarter, the next quarter their target is made to be unachievable. You have reps that are typically top performers that are at the bottom of the sales dashboard. If you are thinking about doing sales here, make sure you are going into acquisition and not growth (you’ve been warned). Acquisition still gets commission and bonus. Growth does not get commission, only bonus (and has to hit a higher threshold than acquisition to get a bonus). With unachievable targets, most growth reps are pretty much stuck on low base salaries at the moment. On top of the structure change that never made sense for the Australian market, there is an upper management team that has a poor attitude. Upper management finds it appropriate to swear at staff in front of a whole Monday morning meeting, which brings me to HR. HR seems to be biased, as they never asked upper management to apologize to the sales floor after that swearing incident- which would be considered bullying and intimidation (based on the bullying and harassment training they have staff complete yearly). The mental health of employees is at risk at this place, since the change to the new structure, and new management in the last year, a lot of sales reps have spoken about the anxiety they are experiencing. These are people that have never had anxiety before working here. To top everything off, the culture is gone in most sales teams. A place that was once vibrant and a place that people loved to come to everyday, now resembles a silent ghost town. Apparently light music on the sales floor wasn’t a “winning culture”, but now with the silence on the floor, it is more of a “losing culture”.

Hi there, thanks for writing in, and highlighting all the positive aspects of your job. We appreciate it and are glad to know people are building lasting relationships in the office. However, we are very concerned about the feedback you shared about our leadership team in Sydney. As an HR team, we care strongly about our employees and their wellbeing. We recognise that the office is where our people spend most of their time and energy, and it is therefore our priority to provide a safe, pleasant and conducive place to work. Bullying, swearing and intimidation are all very serious allegations which we will look into internally. We do not tolerate or encourage such behaviour at Indeed, and strongly believe our leaders should never put employees in uncomfortable and disrespected situations. Our staff’s mental health is important to us, and something we are constantly looking into. We have several welfare benefits for our staff, as well as a confidential employee assistance program should anyone feel the need to speak to someone outside their team. Of course, we also want to make sure people don’t get to the point where they feel alone and unsupported, and our managers are all equipped with the skills to help their team members identify and manage stressful moments in and out of the office. Our HR team are also meant to be there to help build bridges between departments and people. As such, we are disappointed to read you felt that you never received that level of support from our team. Please reach out to our global employer brand team at inside@indeed.com so we can get more details from you to improve your current situation. Thank you.

Thanks for leaving us a review about your time working with us in New York. As an Account Executive, the goal is to make around 60 calls a day to prospect clients/leads, which could be seen as a call center role. However, we strive to keep Indeed far from a typical call center business. We take care of our employees with extensive benefits and perks from free snacks and drinks to unlimited PTO so you can take time to recharge and relax. We would like to talk to you further about your feedback, so we can learn more about your experience. Please contact us on inside@indeed.com.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review about your current experiences of working in our Dublin office. We also want everyone at Indeed to feel like they belong and are absolutely committed to fostering an environment where inclusion is valued and leveraged. We are excited that we have established external partnerships with organizations that help will identify rich diverse talent. However from your feedback, we still have some way to go on our inclusion journey, and always welcome further conversations around this. Our Inclusion team in EMEA is proactively working with senior leadership to ensure we have a better gender balance on the sales floor. This quarter, we established the Dublin chapter of Women @ Indeed, and we are also in the process of organising a Women in Sales event focusing on increasing female representation in our sales operations. All new Account Executives in our Sales Teams go through a intensive onboarding process which includes 2 weeks training with our dedicated Inside Sales Training Teams followed by time shadowing with colleagues on the floor. Throughout the onboarding, employees have a buddy assigned to assist in with the initial training, offer support guidance and feedback. Outside of this, there are support mechanisms e.g. sessions where tenured and Senior AEs can provide guidance and support on individual deals. We also provide ongoing training for our sales organisation including Dale Carnegie training at different stages throughout your career at Indeed. Although we are on the whole a young company, we do believe as a business our culture supports working parents with Open PTO, childcare vouchers, new baby gifts, generous maternity leave. Thank you again for giving us your feedback and if you do want to discuss anything further with us then please do reach out on inside@indeed.com
