      Pros

      - Stable job - decent pay for junior staff - good benefits - good working hours - good industry experience if you're starting out

      Cons

      - There is a severe lack of knowledge and experience among the staff and management. For the most part, the Ottawa office is comprised of Text Book underwriters and managers, no one truly has a firm grasp over the construction, financial, automotive, farming, and recreational industry to say the least. - When you catch brokers time and time again being unethical, management lets it slide because they write business but in that vry act, you're now placing unnecessary risk upon the company and setting a poor precedent with brokers - Pay is extremely low for skilled and talented staff - If you're a protectionist who strives for consistency, and takes the work you do seriously, this wont be a place you'll want to stay long. (Can't speak for other regional offices)

      Horrible company culture

      Good package in terms of salary, benefits, pension but that's about it.

      Cons

      Horrible environment and culture. Management lead by instilling fear in their employees instead of leading by example and real leadership. People constantly talk down about others. Very hierarchical, titles mean everything in this company,

      Intact is a great company to start at after graduating

      Pros

      Management and colleagues are super helpful and will help out when you need assistance. Training is also good. Training coordinators go above and beyond to teach content and make it engaging (even if some of it is super bland and boring)

      Cons

      Doing a lot more work than how much you’re getting paid for.
