Intuit really cares about its employees having a good work / life balance. You get to work with some great, very smart colleagues. There are some pretty fun projects to work on, as well, although there's not always a clear rationale for the proejcts themselves.

Cons

Our management has no guts and no vision. All we know how to do is sell QuickBooks, and we're afraid to give away any of that in a bid for something bigger. Management often values their personal relationships with each other over what's right for the customer.

Pros

Solid benefits and compensation packages - very nice facilities and working environment, and a general feel of other employees valuing each other (generally more than management). Have a fairly well defined market space (but that can be a negative too).

Cons

Poor organizational structure dynamics - i.e. intern in-fighting and attempts to define value at the expense of other teams leads to some strained partnerships across the company. Also, the IT infrastructure supporting the company is sadly inadequate and not efficiently managed or executed on (this is for both internal systems and product offerings). Everything seems to take longer and be harder because of the cyclical nature of some of the key businesses (i.e. can't do anything in the datacenter around tax times, etc).
