Pros

Beautiful Campus and good benefits.

Cons

When being recruited for a role at this firm I was told about the bonus structure and multiple other incentives. After getting hired, I found out most of the information that was told to me was not policy and more "guidelines". These "guidelines" were at the discretion of your current manager and subject to change pending how the company was doing (meaning they could just change them anytime they wanted). Short of it is JP Morgan won't put any type of bonus structure or compensation in writing (they never did). I was there a little more than a year and more than half of the team (20 out of 40 people) had quit due poor working conditions. We had a target bonus of 4-7k pending performance and even though our department was doing well, only 2 people got more than 4k. They told employees if you referred someone to join and they made it more than three months into the role you would get a referral bonus. Multiple people brought over friends who met the criteria but no one got the referral bonus. When pressed on it, management told us all different reasons why we were not getting it- mostly because "we are not offering the incentive anymore" even though it was active at the time of referral and when the employee was hired.

Pros

The team I work with is stellar both in expertise and personality. The main reason I don't move on. The work is interesting and there are many learning opportunities.

Cons

Compensation is average and senior executive leadership is mediocre and full of hypocrisy breeding cynicism and dissatisfaction across the board.

Pros

Great pay (although I would ask for now with how high inflation is and also because your bonus is not guaranteed), strong company, great benefits and 401k match. It's easy to love your job. Great products and solutions so it's easy to win business. Also, a company with a great reputation tends to also attract great clients. 99% are very intelligent, highly motivated, successful business owners. You tend to admire them while you're working for them. They're usually where easy to work with and have accountants who are easily accessible when you need income documentation. UW is also portfolio too so you don't have to jump through dozens of hoops to qualify someone who has both the income and the credit to qualify. You will also learn a lot and if you're intellectually curious, this is a job for you. It also requires that you solve a lot of problems and that you're diplomatic during the process. This opportunity is very rewarding and your customers will definitely be greatful during the process.

Cons

They need to hire more emotionally intelligent managers and managers who want to see their team succeed. Managers are more focused on their overall success while their teams are disorganized. They're not big on recognition and unless you're close to managers, you can easily become a number. I wish they would hire more women who want to see other women succeed.
