Pros

At the time of offering this review, I have been here 7 weeks and thoroughly enjoying the people, environment, and the contributions I am able to make. HR and the on-boarding program is outstanding, very streamlined with very little down time. Within 3 hours of the first day, you will have a laptop, all necessary software tools loaded, a clean office/cube, an on-boarding plan of action, and objectives broken out by weeks. The people here are very intelligent with no room for slacking. Very engaging management and leadership style with open communication and support when and where needed.

Cons

No negatives in the work place to report. But if there is one perk that would be nice to have .... a workout/gym center. To SciQuest's credit, they do offer an allotment/reimbursement cost for a gym membership if desired.

Thank you for your comments! Our onboarding program has evolved over the last few years based primarily on feedback received from employees who have gone through the program. We believe strongly in an open door policy across the whole organization so I’m glad to hear you’ve already experienced the open communication we promote. We are excited to have you on the team!

Pros

Work/life balance is important but often abused leaving others holding the bag.

Cons

HR holds an iron fist over the entire organization. It's far more important to be political than talented. The place has a revolving door that spins at a blurring rate.

Feedback is an important part of our culture at SciQuest. It helps foster continuous improvement – which we are all about. Healthy work-life balance, smart and dedicated team members and their willingness to help others is consistent feedback we hear from our employees through formal and informal feedback tools. We listen carefully to all employee feedback, even when not everyone agrees, so we can learn from it and take action. Employee feedback has contributed to new programs including remote work arrangements, enhanced onboarding, community volunteer opportunities, career progression and on-going feedback focused on development to help ensure we retain high our performing team members. We invest in leadership development for our managers, who help drive a culture of accountability and continuous on-the-job learning for professional growth.

We agree that SciQuest has some of the best employees anywhere — top notch folks with deep product experience. We believe the work/life balance is better than other places where evenings and weekends were commonly considered part of the job. You are correct that SciQuest has had a few great quarters of market successes, allowing us as the development team to focus on developing the next products!
