Pros

Benefits are mediocre, could be worse. You will work with a variety of languages and equipment. You may be allowed to work on other projects as your skills allow, but you may not have the time.

Cons

You will be working with Hardware (printers and computers) you may have to eliminate your software and some hardware as the issue of a problem to get other resources to fix the issue. This is a manufacturing environment and as such, even in the office area, you will hear and feel the punch presses operating. There is no lunch area, eat at your desk or car or go out. The specific working area for the programmers are the worst I have ever encounterd in 20 years of programming. All hard surfaces, no carpet or carpetted cubes to keep down noise. The desks are in a common area and no one has any common courtesy to even attempt to keep the noise down. You will be forced to wear headphones ALL THE TIME. This is a dead end job, with no advancement opportunities that the other locations of Johnson Controls may have. If you want to advance, you will have to move to PA, MI or WI. On top of all of this, pay is below average and you will be required to work at least 9 hours a day. Interns are given more lattitude and opportunities than full-time employees. Quitting this job was like a weight being removed from my shoulders.

Pros

Good additional monthly bonuses for employees with 3+ years of experience in the company. Good work-life balance (not true for all projects, depends on position also).

Cons

Total lack of integrity in the communication of the management, while integrity is expected from the management for all employees. Critical company news and events announced too late. Company has a good employee feedback system which is not taken into account in most of the cases when it should be (promoting, demoting and etc.) - no value added if it just exist. Working with external indian companies and unqualified indian employees which introduces a lot of stress and domotivation (depends on the project) No responsibilities and avoiding important problems by the local management - proactivity with dealing with minor and low-impact problems for reporting some progress (depends on the project). No defined rules and reponsibilities for the team members. Not good place for quality-oriented software developers.
