      Plenty of learning opportunities Great manufacturing experience People were very nice Hands on State of the art lab equipment

      Cons

      The town I was working in was not that great, and not having any other interns or employees around my age made it difficult when I was off work. I found myself driving home (8 hour round trip) every weekend because of this

      Pros

      Very friendly atmosphere; excellent work/family time balance; easy communication The company is one of the leading producers of polyacrylamide: good range of products with high potential

      Cons

      Top management has been buying and selling a large number of companies / business units over the past decade, having a trouble of properly integrating acquired ones: they acquire fixed assets but people and knowledge. Business units structures change every 6 months. Chaos with management and reporting. Very poor safety training No sales training that would be universal for the whole of the company. The company positions itself as a manufacturing rather than sales. International logistics out of USA is very poor.

      Some Great Employees Hiding Under Terrible Managment

      Pros

      Great insurance, 401k, great office in a central location.

      Cons

      zero management training, promotions are given based on whomever in the department has been with Kemira the longest, not who is qualified. Office moral is alltime low, upper management knows this but does nothing to fix it. The quality employees are leaving on a weekly basis. Bonus is being eliminated, eventhough work is increased.
