Pros

There's a lot of growth within Labcorp; very supportive co-workers, management and clients; adequate training; hours are great; pay is good; locations are very reasonable; continuous training is a plus;

Cons

I can't work from home...LOL. Cost on benefits could be a lil better (lower), but everything is high nowadays.

Pros

You will learn a lot if you have 0 experience. You'll learn even more if you know how to turn the other cheek.

Cons

The only thing that's diverse about Labcorp Bedford is the harassment you'll face. Where do you even start. The mantra of this place is "this is the way we've done things, this is the way we'll always do things". The place is run by people who have been there for 6+ years, meaning that they have 0 competition for anyone to threaten their job security resulting in total complacency. There's maybe 2 people throughout the entirety of the Vivo management team who actually care about anyone other than themselves. People (including management) will actively try to make your life miserable by isolating you from your friends and giving you additional work tasks with unrealistic expectations. If you receive ANY form of help that hasn't been sanctioned by management, you will receive some form of punishment. On to your job. You will never leave early. Ever. You can work a 10+ hour day and the next day you will not be allowed to leave early. You can skip lunch to work through your day because you have that much work and if you try to leave early, your management team will look ready to eat you alive. Your management team will come in whenever they want (maybe 2+ hours after you) and leave shortly after you do (sometimes even before). They will have 0 accountability for attendance. They will have 0 accountability for short notice vacations. They will have 0 accountability for being short staffed and will almost never help. Your training and progress will be dictated by how quickly you can learn AND if the management team likes you. If they don't like you, you will be trained at a slower pace. The management team is completely okay with not training people until the last possible second in a desperate attempt to get ready for a study. If you ever speak out against management, infrastructure, fairness or show any signs of disagreement, management will crucify you. Emails, with or without constructive criticism, will be taken out of context and used as evidence against you. You will be denied promotions and pay raises. If you report someone to HR, HR will make sure everyone knows that YOU reported someone. A target will be painted on your back and you will never be able to lose it. If you show too much initiative, management will dump their workload onto you. This can include: onboarding, training newer hires, scheduling, preparing your OWN training, leading meetings, ordering animals, ordering supplies, ordering medications, asking for supplemental training, coordinating after hours study tasks. Once you start taking any extra work on, it will never stop coming. Once you stop taking on extra work and dancing on command, management will immediately paint a target on your back. Noticing a pattern? Now, the 2 people who actually care about in management have enough pull so that if you aren't completely despised by some of the other staff, you won't have to eat it every morning. However, you will be on your own for a lot of things. Outside of the above, there are plenty of people who will make your job harder. There are study directors and department heads who have a number (6+) HR reports against them for things including harassment and work place abuse. This company quite literally will do nothing after an entire building has quit because of 2 people. There is also a very sexist attitude, if you know, you know. Benefits aren't anything great, pay isn't anything great, location is fine. Talented people leave quickly because they realize that it's simply a lost cause.

Pros

This company benefits are better than most companies.

Cons

The volume of work does not match the extremely understaffed workers. Extra shipments come everyday and the eta is never accurate. Some benches need 3 techs on it instead of 1. There is a lot of call offs at work due to illness and people are simply overworked. Sometimes 1 tech is expected to do the work 3 techs. Lab Assistants are overworked and expected to pull pending everyday because some techs are too lazy to pull their on pending. Expect to stay in the cooler for long periods of time if your are a lab assistant in hematology. Expect to never know when you are leaving each day and expect overtime to almost necessary to complete tasks everyday. The lab assistant pay is not good. Even when they want you to do 7 different tasks everyday including other folks work. A lot of training is needed on the direct management side. Favoritism and Mess is apart of the culture.
