Pros

only work 40 hours overtime after

Cons

Have received no training just throwing pallets 7 to 9 hours a day and most of time by yourself since the associates don't come to work and still have a job. Or better yet when they come in at 800 am and you been there since 530am and they stand at register and go on a break before you.

Pros

You get a 10% discount card 30 days leave Free uniform Pay slightly higher than other retail stores

Cons

Ok, if you value your home life, relationships, financial security, mental wellbeing please do not work for Lidl. It’s simply dreadful and a thoroughly miserable experience Non existent training. You get a training plan but after a week it’s forgotten about Racist Management. If you are not English, you will be racially abused by shift and store managers (note, I’ve witnessed this daily in 3 branches) If you are new you will be working every weekend. Sexism - Women on tills, men doing the heavy lifting. Oh, if you are pregnant, be prepared to be looked down upon when you can’t lift a tray of heavy tins potentially harming your unborn child. No work place assessment for such things. Pregnant women are almost seen as an inconvenience. Rotas change frequently so you have no chance to have a life outside Lidl Uniform is terrible (and you have to buy your own shoes) No uniform allowance in wages (for cleaning etc) Always short staffed (whether to save money or people just don’t turn up) Horrible customers. Always have an issue, not enough money, always argue over the slightest thing. Witnessed staff being threatened or reduced to tears Always trying to send staff home early to ‘save hours’. Inconsistant wages. Could be anything from £80 - £150 different each month. Impotent Welfare team which appears only to exist to appease staff and have no power whatsoever Dangerous. You will suffer one one injury a week Unhealthy culture. Fast food, smoking, sugary drinks. Not to mention danger of catching something from the out of date food that is left to rot in the warehouse. Dirty staff areas. Awful RDC. They either deliver late, too much, too little on pallets that have been stacked ridiculously high. Area managers come in expecting Harrods. Inconsistent wage structure. Constant breaking of Working Time Regulations (on a late shift, you may only have a 7 - 8 hour break as you have a 5am start the following day) Oh, they did a Vibe survey recently. Everyone thought it would be a chance to give feedback. No chance, a few generic questions and that was it. No chance to put your only concerns. And the result of that survey was.... nothing has changed. Please, for your own mental health, look someone else.

Pros

the pay is competitive I suppose but not really considering the stress level.

Cons

One person is given the workload of three, ridiculous expectations, always understaffed. You are never shown any appreciation. The supervisors are extremely rude and disrespectful (no common courtesy). Overly physically demanding (especially for those with pre-existing conditions like arthritis, degenerative joint disease, poor vision or hearing, etc)
