Pros

It is funny that i can not name any. Several of us are looking to leave . People in the HR department are running from this place and if they speak up are fired.

Cons

This place is so fake. I work in HR. This place is scary. We now have senior american keadership in HR who just makes empty promises. Just had a meeting with upper management of my department. Talked about unfair labor and pay practices in the company. Looks like nothing will be fixed. We need help.

Pros

5% 401k Match Good health care and commuter benefit Sr. managers get free cars with gas

Cons

The pay is way below market, unless you're manager and above. No work life balance, the open space concept allows the managers to monitor what time you come in and leave. If you are not present for at least 12 hrs/day, it means you don't care enough for your job. Some people don't do any work, just bs their way through. No recognition of hard work whatsoever. If you are white male or female with short skirts, you'll be promoted. HR don't take any complaints or resolve any issues. You are expected to come into the office during the snowstorm, even if the metro or buses don't run. Oh there's no telework policy so feel free to risk your life on a slippery highway. Avoid this place at all costs, unless you're 22 and want something in your resume.

Pros

Good compensation and ability to rack up a lot of PTO; opportunities to take on significant new work and really stretch your abilities... although this is also a drawback...

Cons

There are a lot of negative reviews about working at Lidl's corporate office here, and they're all true - so I won't spend time rehashing what's already been written with regard to the recent RTO debacle, layoffs, and general decline of morale. The last year that I worked for Lidl was generally awful for my mental health, but more so, it's had a significant and lasting effect on my own professionalism. There's a truly nasty culture there - it's cliquey and passive-aggressive and gossipy and alienating... honestly, it meets the definition of a hostile working environment. Success comes from being the most stubborn and selfish person in the room, not from collaboration. I didn't realize how ingrained this attitude had become in me until I started a new job and realized that I had learned to approach every interaction with suspicion and disdain for my colleagues. Now, I'm actively working every day to unlearn this. In short, I'd caution anyone against working for Lidl - but especially younger workers who are still learning the bounds of what's acceptable or professional. It's not only an unpleasant environment in the moment, but it may derail your professional development and affect your success at future employment for years to come.
