Pros

-"Mouse Utopia" with unlimited snacks and comforts -Benefits were good but these were slowly drained -Some smart and hard workers, especially mid-level engineers

Cons

-Advertises inclusive workplaces, work-life balance, and several other corporate virtue signals on its platform yet breaches them egregiously internally -Has minions that monitor negative reviews of the company (likely reading this) to try to prevent leaks of its despicable culture -On culture: one of the most passive-aggressive, sycophantic ones you will ever experience -Exemplifies everything disordered about the Professional Managerial Class and HR committees -Quickly flipped their fickle "inclusion" policies as soon as their AI arms race took hold and pushed away their ESG corporate symbology -Ran an offshoring campaign to India under the nose of some but obvious to others, with swaths of middle management leaving starting in 2023 -"Flattening orgs" = creating ambiguous incentive and promotion structures so the politicking can politic even more -After all the re-orgs, what was left of management was largely a sociopath's team

Pros

Working at LinkedIn comes with strong benefits and solid overall compensation. The food provided on-site is high quality and makes the workday easier. The people are smart, collaborative, and generally good to work with.

Cons

Management can be inconsistent, with limited clear communication across teams. Career growth opportunities are not always transparent or well supported. There can be a gap between stated company values and how decisions or rules are applied in practice.

Awful work culture

Pros

Stock & salary are not bad.

Cons

I worked on the editorial team and the work culture was appalling, deeply toxic, and everyone knew it. What made it worse is that at regular meetings we would be told that the best think about working at LinkedIn was the work culture and how it was absolutely not toxic. It came right from the top, and trickled down through managers of all levels. And boy, were there a lot of levels. What made this worse is that at regular meetings we would be told that one of the best things about working at LinkedIn was that it had a horizontal structure and that there were no managers. If you are looking for a job where you absolutely obey your managers and show no initiative and take home a decent pay check each month, then fine, fill your boots. But, honestly, for me it was wasn't sustainable. I was so miserable that I walked away from tens of thousands of dollars of Microsoft stock just to get out of there.
