Pros

• Good salary and good benefits • Strongly supports diversity and equal opportunity • The work is challenging, interesting, and rewarding • Opportunities for advancement • Generally pleasant work environment • Good teams • Matching 401k • Annual, company-wide ethics training • Flexible hours • Good work/life balance

Cons

• As for all government contractors, the whims of the customer can sometimes have a serious negative financial impact on a program • While still good, benefits have been getting reduced in recent years, leading to a greater cost burden placed on employees in return for lesser benefits, especially with respect to health insurance

Pros

Initial training, work from home opportunity, fruits

Cons

No work ethics, many of them team up and stop the deserved from moving up the ladder of success. Faced discrimination beyond anybody could imagine. Managers act very superior. Very toxic environment. I will never recommend anyone to join the company. It's not a progressive organisation at all. Totally work against the company values mentioned.

A Solid Experience

Pros

As one of the country's largest employers, from a career development standpoint Lockheed Martin is a well established community that helps you define a path to progression within the organization. It comes with plenty of benefits and a 9/80 work schedule with provides a good work life balance. If you're someone who wants to get a job, isn't focused on an accelerated career path and is okay with riding it out. You can comfortably spend your whole career at Lockheed. Being a cost estimator follows that same story, you can have this job and coast for a while if that's what you want to do. The people for the most part are great.

Cons

Lockheed Martin, like many other big corporations, is NOT a meritocracy. Office politics, bs training sessions, a rigid management structure and a lot of people in bs positions. (Button pushers) Training is virtually non-existent. Unnecessarily long learning curve due to poor employee training practices. Don't expect much in terms of compensation, HR likes to lowball you and the organization likes to dangle a lot of carrots in front of you to get you to stay. Lots of office politics and poor foresight on the part of management to make the best decision for the organization at times. The job is relatively boring. Don't expect to be someone who's going to make a ton of money or even more than average in your area

No training and no support

Pros

Get to work with really nice people Okay benefits package, pretty standard for industry Yearly pay rise, performance based

Cons

Charge code culture is toxic No training, for grads or more senior members of staff Badly managed and structured teams Struggles to embrace change, or listen to new ideas Seems to prefer to hire people with skills instead of training staff (Even though staff are willing to do the training) Grad scheme is a waste of what little money is spent on it Seems to have a 'it's not what you know but who' culture when it comes to career progression Flexi-time isn't really flexi-time, you have to do 75 hours in two weeks and the hours are capped so you can't do too little or too many a week. Mixture of line manager competence, can cause confusion when information is shared through them.
