Pros

Open office space for each team to enhance communication while working. Friendly and knowledgeable people.

Cons

Teams are so segregated that they use different developer tools and methodologies to accomplish tasks. This results in conflict if two teams have to work on the same project. This lack of consistency also means some teams have better training and coaching while other teams struggle from lack of experience in training. Underwent growing pains as a company and had a lack of space, desks, and equipment for new employees.

Pros

Lockheed offers very good training program for managers and addition coursework is available through the skillsoft web application. Overall the company maintains an ethical work environmemt.

Cons

If you are not working at one of the enterprise locations you are pretty much treated as a second class citizen. Additionally, enterprise applications were not compatible with the customers systems which created extra work

Pros

There is a great training program and they offer quite a few certifications to obtain for free.

Cons

The leave benefits are not typical of your typical full-time job but the health care benefits are very good, although expensive.

Pros

- good benefits - flexible hours - most sites develop innovative technology

Cons

- benefits reduced more and more - laying off older, higher pay employees and replacing them with inexperienced for fresh out of college personnel. This has been causing HUGE problems with design and production issues due to lack of knowledgeable, and experience. - Complicated processes causing major design and manufacturing issues which in turn becomes costly and delays productivity. Layoffs seem to focus on the long term, experienced employees. - management imposes ethics training but doesn't follow it themselves. If anyone does go to HR to lodge a complaint or concern they are next on the layoff list. We've seen this happen with a co-worker we had worked with for years. - loosing customers due to way they are running company. They are not meeting their requirements for some contracts or over spending on some others.

Pros

Plenty of opportunities for training and getting face time with upper management. Gain operations, finance and engineering experience. Opportunities for independent projects and business trips to see actual engineering work.

Cons

Sometimes the program structure would become far too rigid, but also the management structure and business rhythm changed far too often. Initiating 'change' was a large barrier at times (signature loops and battling the clock).

Pros

I like it here because the management does not micro manage its employees. There is a lot of flexibility on work schedules as long as you are putting 8 hrs a day. They also allow teleworking on selected days.

Cons

No Bonus sharing program for employees, No Stock Options. Too much unnecessary training per year. Multiple user accounts for different sites.

Pros

Large company, variety of opportunities. Tuition reimbursement. Many management training programs and courses. Great opportunities for entry level professionals.

Cons

Varies per profession or location. No way to generalize and cons for working at LMC because every position and location is different
