Pros

- learn lots if fresh out of school - good money for new grad

Cons

- absolutely no work / life balance - not able to take vacation (left with weeks of unused days) - MANIPULATIVE management - high pressure sales, asked to do whatever it takes to get the deal in - completely micro-managed with no autonomy whatsoever - have to "sip the kool-aid" to be a manager Learned a lot but completely drained all my energy and mental health took a massive hit during this job.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. Work-life balance can mean different things to different people, but we strive to create a culture where employees feel supported at work and also have time to have fun. As far as the ability to take vacation, we do not restrict vacation days and offer great benefits to our employees. We apologize if that was not communicated to you during your time at Meltwater. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Uhhh not really sure what to say here

Cons

The high pressure sales tactics that the management employs to ensure that artificial goals are hit is unreal. I'm a veteran of over ten years of selling technology in some high pressure environments, but Meltwater takes it to a new level. Given their tech stack and product it's definitely making lemons out of lemonade.

Thank you for your feedback and sorry to hear about your experience at Meltwater. With regard to our sales methodology-- it's been tried and tested over the past 15 years to propel our sales employees to success. But we understand it's not for everyone, and appreciate the feedback.

Pros

Closing days are themed, and can be fun if everyone hits quota. Your peers are usually great – the hiring process ensures you're surrounded by driven people. Benefits are honestly great. Health and dental plans are hard to beat.

Cons

Management. Ultimately, they're more concerned with themselves than the growth of their employees. No trust. We're adults, with lives outside of work. Sometimes you need to go to the dentist, need to run home to pick up a package, etc. Leaving work is often considered blasphemy. Clock watching runs rampant here. Bro sales culture is rampant. If you don't drink the coolaid, you'll be an outsider. Different learning styles and personalities are often overlooked if you're not suckling at the company teet. Training: here's some slide decks - learn what you can. Learning and development is almost nonexistent. Pay is pretty bad - especially considering what other companies in the area are paying. Work/Life balance is almost nonexistent. People are consistently expected to work over the weekends, 12 hour days, etc. All for the "greater good" of the company.

Thanks for your review. It's great to hear you enjoyed working with other talented and driven people. With regard to management, what you've described is not consistent with the culture and environment we strive for as a company. We are always looking to better develop and support our employees, including our management layer, and we put a lot of time and resources into training managers who can lead by example. That being said we're always looking to improve in these areas, so thank you for your feedback.
