Pros

Fantastic experience for new grads, and one of the few companies where little to no experience is no reason not to get a call for an interview. If sales or business is something that you would consider going into as a career, give Meltwater a shot because it has the ability to teach you how a sales organization can be run and gives you the ability to learn some basic sales process methodology in a fun and fast paced environment.

Cons

If you read the above and think of "fast paced" as anything less than making phone calls every minute of every day (upwards of 200-300+ in some cases), than think again. Meltwater is an extremely high-pressure environment with some of the most aggressive monthly sales quotas ever conceived. New people beware: the companies most likely to purchase the product you are selling either already have it, or can only be sold to by Meltwater veterans who have been around long enough to have earned the right, or as is most often the case, been lucky enough to have leads distributed to them from the most recent person to leave.

Pros

Young, fun company. Great place to grow in a company if selling SaaS is what you want to do.

Cons

Most people leave within a year of starting. Everyone starts in what they call a "International Management Trainee," which is really nothing more than a glorified inside sales job. If you do well, you have the opportunity for promotion, but if not management is looking down on you. Huge amount of micromanagement, with people constantly looking over your shoulder and telling you to do things that worked for them, but not necessarily that will work for you.

Pros

Free trips. It is better than being homeless.

Cons

The terrible cult-like atmosphere. The bullying. The sheer inept nature of all management. They require an insane amount of time spent working outside of the office. If you don't play by the rules, then you are outcasted and eventually fired. The mood is often toxic and the pressure completely intense. Information is communicated very poorly and you will be expected to work entire weekends at times to interview new potential employees. Someone could probably write a book about this place...well, maybe I wll be that person. Its too bad Meltwater isn't a household name.
