Pros

Meraki is disrupting IT, and doing it with all the style of a startup in San Francisco. Cisco saw the disruption coming and bought the best Cloud networking solution on the market, Meraki. The founders stuck around long enough to engrain the culture permanently. Meraki is in the middle of it's big growth period, and it's a fantastic time to be a part of this group of people. Imagine Google in it's early years, after everyone realized it was more than just a search engine. Revolution in IT had to come with the Internet, but it took longer than expected.

Cons

In order to disrupt IT in the corporate world you have to be a big corporation - or at least a part of a big corporation. Meraki kept their name, their culture, and 99% of their people in the acquisition by Cisco. You will hear that Cisco is a big company and confusing, and some employees have a fear (rational or irrational) of becoming "corporate" depending on your perspective. This actually drives them to stay competitive. No one likes change, that's true in any organization. People leave and start new companies, that's even more true in San Francisco's startup world than anywhere else. Cisco is one of the more family friendly and engineering talent friendly "corporate" companies in the Bay Area. Sure their offices in south bay are not as fancy as Meraki, but they'll probably upgrade their offices or already have started. Cisco has been the #1 company in IT for decades. Now it's time for... Cisco to keep that title. Meraki on the other hand now goes from being a cool start up with a great product and a small market share, to being the #1 company in IT.

Pros

- Fun and upbeat place to work - Open office space with NO cubes - Amazing office right by AT&T Park - Achievable quotas and good commission structure - Solid management staff with room for upward mobility - Catered lunch every single day and more snacks than is necessary - Gym at the office and tons of fun events like Food Trucks, Giants games, and Happy Hours

Cons

- After being acquired by Cisco, there has been a concern that things will become too 'corporate'. Hasn't happened yet though - As Meraki grows, so do quotas, but numbers are still very attainable now

Pros

For a software company, it's a pretty good place to work. Can't complain. The projects are interesting, there's a lot of smart people around, it's not too bad.

Cons

The office culture can be a little be too informal at times for my taste. I think most people prefer this, though, this might just be me.
