Pros

This has been the best place I have worked by FAR. The culture and people at Meraki are unparalleled, I dare you to try to not make friends there, its impossible. The technology is remarkable, allowing for at least 3-4 "wow" factors on every demo of each product line. If you don't have the technology win with Meraki (pending company size), then go back to demo training, because it isn't that hard with what the engineers have given us. Their vision to expand cloud management to more parts of the workspace will set Meraki up for continued success in the future. Meraki still embodies the start up fun culture, while having the funding and budget of a beast like Cisco behind it. Meraki has also grown to be the golden child within Cisco, allowing for Meraki reps to be poached for Cisco field positions with incredibly high OTE's (200-300k+). This is a company where you can build a stable successful future for yourself, all while continuing to keep you on your toes with new product releases and epic Christmas parties. Oh and did I mention that there are 120 registered dogs in the office?! Some would call it heaven, I was lucky enough to call Meraki home for a while.

Cons

Whenever a big company like Cisco owns a billion dollar company such as Meraki that is still growing at 30% YOY, there are bound to be some issues in terms of setting quotas and budgets. That being said, the new upper management at Meraki has done an AMAZING job weathering that storm and fighting for higher pay of Meraki reps. There has been two sets of company wide raises that have gone out for sales in the last 12 months, which shows Cisco sees the value in the talented Meraki salesforce. Cons? Na... This is an awesome company for anyone. I just personally wanted to try a startup before I got too comfortable making a steady 300k at Cisco.

Pros

- Culture is cool - Technology's an easy-sell. - 1st-level managers are good - Perks like lunch, benefits, building on the water

Cons

- "Meraki Roulette" for sales territories. Some strong, others terrible. Leadership has a hard time making it a level playing field. - Mid-market sales role showed as promotion path but not set up to succeed. Reps and managers leaving. After so many years here, sad to see so many people leave. - Meraki reps have to compete against Cisco most of the time, so not a good role if you don't like playing politics

Pros

Lots of interesting problems across a fuller stack than most (firmware to Javascript). Lots of transparency in direction. Engineering has tons of input on what gets built, and the distribution of project management to individual engineering teams and individual engineers gives a great sense of control and ownership. Work/life balance is good, and deadlines are usually very reasonable.

Cons

Meraki is a pretty slim organization, and there is _always_ more to do. Because engineering more often hears feature requests from PM or support tickets than praise from customers, it sometimes feels like a slog. Also, although there is now a lot of focus on it, the career track in the engineering ladder isn't very explicit. Pay goes up, but there's no accompanying title.
