Pros

- I was a fan of the product before joining, and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to find new use cases for things beyond project planning, like weekly team meetings, visualizing data and reporting and in general adding a bit of personality to otherwise dull spreadsheets - Pretty decent benefits and competitive salaries in the Netherlands - Compassionate and kind team members across the business

Cons

- Much of the leadership team has only worked at Miro, or very few jobs in addition to their Miro experience. This can be an asset when it comes to understanding the product and historical context, but also shows in how decisions are made, as title and power are often leveraged instead of strategy (which is somewhat ironic given that the company places so much emphasis on having as much of a flat hierarchy as possible) - The decision to do layoffs seemed like an afterthought, or merely copying the tech industry writ large instead of some sort of requirement to keep business moving - There is much work to be done to make Miro a safe environment for underrepresented and marginalized employees. Leadership team is not bought in, and even though a number of customers want to see the needle moved on DEI-related matters, Miro instead only offers lip service and emphasizes "neutrality" instead of actually acknowledging structural issues that trickle down from the tippy top. This is further highlighted by the number of underrepresented leaders who have left the company of their own accord, many before the layoffs even happened

Pros

- The product is awesome - The original team who built the product really thought through user problems and created a wonderful product (I wish they could have hired better humans and created a better organisation though !) - They pay probably in the top tier !

Cons

- Please spare yourselves the torcher from the toxic middle and higher management. - They really have no idea of whats next ! Some people in there are "people managers" NOT "leaders" -"Fake it till you make it" attitude displayed and promoted -They lack vision, empathy, long term thinking and everything that can help them beccome a great company -They like to hire and keep people who agree with their toxic value system while displaying to the world that they are very transparent and fair. -They are highly unethical in their practices and play with legality as it keeps them safe -As an employee I never felt at ease or safe to speak my mind here -When I did it was not only not acknowledged but was shunned -Probably the rest of the company is great but I have my doubts

Pros

- Great product - Good base salary - No overtimes - Home office bonus during covid - Compensation of public transport - Free lunch and sometime breakfast in the office.

Cons

- Micromanagement from all levels of engineering leadership - Top-Down technical decisions from CTO to feature teams - High level of bureaucracy, as in large enterprise companies - Bad tooling, which makes day-to-day engineering job incredibly difficult - Bad engineering culture which is hard to change because of constant pressure about deadlines - Hybrid-office strategy: 2-3 mandatory days in the office instead of a full remote - Non-competitive total compensation.
