Pros

Great people technically, interesting problems to resolve.

Cons

No work life balance, sweat shop. Middle management without any people skills, hard to work with. Too much pressure from everywhere without any help.

Pros

This company has brought a lot of formerly-high-end features to the PC. If it wasn't for it people would still be playing 3D games on workstations. 3D graphics is a very rewarding field to work in, probably more rewarding than anything else in IT.

Cons

The people in power are incompetent. It used to be that those in power came from other companies and were really good and took decisions which reliably bent over the competition. These people have long ago left and have been replaced with promoted people who have no idea what they're doing. These new people obsess, backstab, in fact, they do anything they can to hide their inability to think properly. The rank and file then has to live with the pressure.

Pros

NVIDIA offers the ability to obtain a lot of broad experience in the ASIC industry. Your assignments can vary wildly from project to project, but this can cause problems when projects (and their schedules) aren't properly managed. For example, designs can be compromised by inconsistent ownership and poor understanding of the design.

Cons

Long-term prospects for NVIDIA are somewhat uncertain in the context of AMD' and Intel's platform ownership. Inconsistent management focus leads to disappointing project performance.
