Pros

NG is good at giving people opportunities. The engineering matrix in MS ensures that people can rotate to new opportunities and grow in their professional development while staying in a company and gaining tenure.

Cons

It is a large company. In the end, you are just an employee. The recent sale of 3 different units of the business and 6400 employees shows that whether you work there 2 weeks or 30 years, you only matter as much as the revenue.

Pros

This place has no pros above and beyond similar aerospace companies

Cons

Poor process control, little engineering discipline, poor communication, questionable management (particularly mission assurance), lots of engineers (and managers) in positions for which they have no training or insight to execute, employees rushing to meet arbitrary schedules without thinking about the best way to proceed. There's definitely a good old boy's club at work. This explains a lot of the mediocrity.

Pros

-Coworkers are nice to each other, and people seem competent at their jobs. -If you like it freezing cold inside (like long pants and a sweatshirt with the hoodie on and your feet are still frozen), then this place is for you -Nice, well-kept campus that is brand new

Cons

-You will have to park at either GE or FIT Aviation -You won't have a desk with your name on it, ever -Security is an absolute JOKE. FIT has 10x more security and they aren't a defense contractor: if another country had agents go on NG's campus, they'd own it since there is no armed security and employees are not allowed to have weapons in their vehicles, not even pepper spray. So if you don't like having a target on your back by working here and compound that with no security, then look elsewhere. (e.g., I was sitting in the building one night and heard 8 consecutive gun shots outside, definitely gunshots. I asked "security" about it later and the guy simply stated "yeah, I heard them.") -You will be given your assigned tasks but you will have to find the resources to complete them (i.e., play hide and seek to find a computer and phone to be on a phone call). This is because it will take months to get a computer and phone at your desk (again, IF you get a desk). -Basically, this whole campus is like a chicken running around with its head cut off: no one knows how to get you in for training for something or who to contact or when they do it or how they do it. It takes weeks or months to get anything done around NG because no one knows anything. -Also, if you think you get paid more by having a clearance, think again. I took a pay cut by accepting an offer at NG from across the street, which also included a promotion...how do you get a pay cut with a promotion across the street?? And you also get to deal with all the BS that a clearance gets to afford you.
