Pros

I can't think of one pro for this company other than being able to work at home, but that is true of all transcription service companies. I do have a good team lead, but that's the only good thing I can say about this company.

Cons

The voice recognition is so far off that many reports have to be practically retyped. The QA is so stringent about stupid little things that they make it impossible to achieve the percentage required for bonuses. So much time is spent on things other than transcription that it is impossible to make a decent wage. If we are not entirely certain of what we hear and decide to leave a blank and QA is able to get that blank, we are counted off, but if we type what we think we hear and QA doesn't hear the same thing, we are counted off for that. It's a no win situation. I have worked in transcription for 20 years and make less money now than I did when I first started out. For the knowledge and experience required for this job, our pay rate should be much higher.

Honestly, on another review of this company I had put "work at home" but the trade off and disrespect is not worth it.

Cons

I worked for NTS for two years. I have done transcription in doctors offices, specialty groups radiology offices -- a whole gamut of medical transcription and billing for over 40 years. My pay was climbing every year except for the two years that I worked at NTS. When my husband and I crunched the numbers we realized that my combined Social Security (early retirement) and a small pension is more than I ever made at NTS, I was done with the whole silly game. I recently found a payroll slip from the 1970s. With Nuance I've been making that little again. In the two years that I was there, I never did figure out how I was paid. It's the most devilish, evil system ever devised, meant to take money away from you. The supervisors have no respect for us. I probably should have reported my immediate supervisor for some inappropriate conversations that she lapsed into, out of the friggin blue, regarding religion, (unknowingly denigrating mine) and an off-the-wall political comment during an election year (again nothing to do with our conversation). She was careless and very strange. The supervisors say "please reach out" to us" with any questions, but the problem is they are never available as their instant messenger is always flagged "do not disturb". They never answer back in a timely Fashion except for the time I sent in my resignation! Boy that was a quick response! You know, when time is money (mine) and you work remotely and not able to network with peers, you really need the supervisors to be right there when you need them. Alas, my immediate supervisor did not know anything about the platform or transcription. As far as culture and values, from what I know of Indian culture, females are really not regarded highly and, remember, transcription is mainly historically female career. I think there is a culture of disrespect to us and our profession. One of their reps said they wanted to be number 1 and corner the market of the conglomerate transcription industrial machine and they are voraciously eating up their competition, but they are not savvy enough to keep up with it. I really think they're going to fall apart. I hope the community hospitals, medical centers, and medical offices dump this outsource system and bring back their Transcriptionists from within their community. There's nothing like being being a member of a community and and participating and living it. "Global" anything is soulless and disconnected.
