      Challenging work with friendly people and an culture of learning

      Pros

      Optym is full of very friendly people from all over the world who love to share their culture and traditions. It is great place to begin your career, because you will find many opportunities early on to step up and take on responsibilities that push your limits. The level of creativity and collaboration that comes from the marketing team is unmatched, so more often than none, you are working on something interesting, fun and creative. They have a very strong culture of learning, giving you a structured amount of time every week to learn a new skill for your job. They care a lot about their image, so their facility is always impeccable with awesome coffee and snacks! They also have great benefits. and a great 401K match.

      Cons

      The work hours can get long at times. Sometimes, efforts to change the workplace culture feel forced and can dampen the mood. The tough work culture makes it difficult to work from home, or remotely without feeling guilty about it. They are actively trying to change this, but it will take time.

      Excellent organization to learn along with having fun

      Pros

      Lots of opportunity to work - you can switch roles between database developer, UI developer, backend developer or engine developer. You ask for the role and if opportunity is present it will be given. No restrictions that a particular developer always has to work in the same area. Lot of fun perks like health and fitness perks, awesome pantry loaded with healthy stuff for fitness freaks, some very unusual luxury items like dry fruits, fruit juices, fruits, honey, etc. Multiple activities planned for team building as lot of focus on highly bonded teams. The business problems solved in different projects are very complex and working on algorithms and devising logic to solve them is very satisfying. Excellent team members with lots of knowledge and good coordination. Owing to flat hierarchy and availability of higher management who are always willing to listen to any issue you have is commendable (if any review complains about management not listening, please ignore because they probably did not reach out to them - to be heard, you need to speak). Flexible work from home policy.

      Cons

      For some projects work life balance gets skewed (has not happened with me yet on any form of regular basis) Some general issues faced with growing organization but nothing worth it to mention.

      Terrible company to work for

      Pros

      Flexible timings Work from home facilities ( doesn't necessarily mean you'll have a work-life balance)

      Cons

      - The upper management micro-manages everything. They hold personal grudges against you when you step even a toe outside the line - Only people who can suck up to the bosses and massage their egos will get promoted. Nepotism is just another very common things in this company. - During my time at Optym, people on a monthly basis left the company. - Not a very encouraging and nurturing environment to work in. - The management team has no considerations, no respect for their employees or their background and treats them very poorly. - The management never gave proper answers or even held themselves responsible when things were not going their way. It's always a blame game with them.

We treat our team members very well; we respect them, care for them and do everything within our means to keep them happy. However, we will consider your comments as constructive feedback.
