Pros

The company location is nice and they have very good furniture. Good snacks and drinks. You can get an h1b visa through the company.

Cons

In my opinion the company problems can be divided to three major categories: 1- The working environment is very toxic: The company top management openly encourages gossip. They welcome any one to go to them and tell lies about any other team member. They understand that as a sign of loyalty to the company. Basically you can trust no one there, even the people that you think that they are close to you they tell lies about you to show their loyalty to the top management and get promotion and bonus. The way the company works is riddled with hypocrisy. To get a promotion and bonus you need to follow one of the few strong men in the company and follow their orders even if it is wrong. It is just like a drug cartel. 2- No leadership: The top management encourages the project managers to be strict with the team members and even insult them, thinking that this will get more work done. They don't appreciate the team's hard work. One of the main company values is loyalty. They ask every employee to be loyal to the company, to put the company's interest over his own even over his family however, they are not loyal to anyone other than themselves. You can be working on a project and they decide to remove you from your position or even move you to another project without even talking to you in advance to understand what went wrong. You will be working in a project with many people fighting over the last word about what should be done. No one really cares about the projects' success, it is all about finger pointing and show that the problem is from the other person. There is no clear career path as they think that your title is not related to your position in any way. There is no clearly defined criteria regarding the promotion and bonus. 3- No trust: The management is micromanaging the projects, so every small detail needs their approval.

Thanks for your feedback, and we are sorry that you feel that way. We agree that there is room for improvement in any rapidly growing company on all fronts, but we disagree with most of your feedback. We treat our employees extremely well. We strive to provide an environment where team members feel valued, respected and that they’re treated fairly. We have an open culture so any team member can approach any senior management team member directly, including the CEO, to discuss any suggestions or areas for improvements. We listen to those and respond individually. All of our promotions and bonus decisions are considered by a panel of senior managers and are agreed upon by everyone in the panel. We have also taken the conscious decision of giving responsibilities based on a person’s merit and not on years of experience or designation. We wish you success in your future career. We welcome any further inputs at feedback@optym.com.

Pros

Unlike a lot of large companies where one's impact tends to be low, Optym provides a lot of opportunity for any individual to create impact within the organization. It solves relevant, real-world problems on a large-scale in turn creating a lot of meaningful and challenging work for the employees. Team members are well-compensated and company offers great perks like free snacks, weekly team lunches, monthly team building budgets and an annual company retreat with significant others. Overall, great place to work!

Cons

Projects can sometimes require long hours but teams tend to be self-driven and self-motivated to put in the work as it is both interesting and meaningful.

Thank you for taking the time to provide thoughtful feedback. We appreciate hearing about your personal experiences and are happy to hear that you enjoy working at Optym. We are solving complex problems faced by our clients that have never been solved before. We are making impossible possible, so we agree that sometimes project teams need to work longer hours to meet deadlines, and we truly admire their hard work on such occasions. We are trying to minimize these through proper planning and resource assignment. The management has taken your advice to “always keep improving” to heart and has started several management training initiatives. Thanks again for your feedback. We welcome any further inputs at feedback@optym.com.
