Pros

Nice people, good location, Apple products, they fly people to the US for kickoffs and conventions sometimes. You get to play with a lot of different technologies.

Cons

Very messy, they don't have any clear flows for anything, whether it's software development, taking vacation days, finance, HR. Sometimes they make internal policies and don't tell anyone until it's too late. You have to make your own way and fight if you want things to happen. No personal development official process. They don't communicate with employees what is their responsibility and there's no official evaluation process between workers and managers. They treat their long term employees badly, and don't know how to maintain good employees. No bonuses. Hard to get more options or salary upgrades. The sales people are the gods of the company and RnD gets less appreciated both in company events and in work conditions. They are all about making money.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. This year, we have launched our annual assessment process, an opportunity for employees to share their wins, plan for their career development, have open and honest conversations with their managers regarding their performance, build trust, and increase transparency. This process is new to the company and directly aligns with the merit increase process. In addition, we offer robust training programs and opportunities to our employees. We host New Hire Orientation and a New Hire Bootcamp for every employee so they can acclimate quickly and better understand the business. Our Learning and Development Team has also launched three new training programs so our employees can enhance their professional development and grow their careers. Thank you.

Pros

Nice office in good location, they encourage and fund many activities such as conferences. Middle management guys are cool for the most part.

Cons

Higher management takes critical decisions without consulting with, or even informing middle management. Said management does not care at all about well being of employees - a small group of employees that have 'been there from the start' disrespect and insult newer employees on a daily basis and experience no consequences what-so-ever. Also CEO micromanages the weirdest things - employees aren't allowed to have trash cans near their desks or popsicles at the office as a direct order from him.. what's up with that?!

What kind of pickle? Every last detail of our new office in the Azrieli Tower was carefully thought out and designed to provide the best employee experience possible. As a company, we do not tolerate disrespect, exclusion, or workplace bullying of any kind. Anyone experiencing this is asked to report it to their HRBP immediately. Thank you. -Alyssa Lahar, Chief People Officer

Leadership Decisions Are Not Invoking Employee Confidence

Pros

Great day-to-day teams. The people who actually do the work are really great at what they do. Free lunches if in office. Unlimited PTO policy. Great 401k matching policy. 3% match and 1/2% matches up to 5%.

Cons

Concerning that there was a massive layoff in November and then they pushed all of the annual reviews for remaining employees that is typically in December to sometime in Q1. It appears they are preparing to make more unannounced decisions before compensation increases or they are preparing to freeze them altogether. One of the key values OwnBackup preaches is Trust through Transparency and there hasn't been a lot of clear communication internally as to the actual reasons behind decisions leadership is making and its impacting the employee confidence for those that are doing the daily work.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re happy you are enjoying your colleagues at OwnBackup along with our employee benefits and perks. This year, we have launched our annual assessment process, an opportunity for employees to share their wins, plan for their career development, have open and honest conversations with their managers regarding their performance, build trust, and increase transparency. This process is new to the company and directly aligns with the merit increase process. In order to best align the two processes, we made the decision to recalibrate the timeline. If you have any other questions or concerns, please reach out to your HRBP. Thank you.
