Pros

Some people were nice in Tel Aviv. Nice new office.

Cons

They treated me like trash for months and then they fired me. Managers did not really see me, took decisions concerning my position without speaking me to me, as if I did not exist. As one of the few females in r&d, they made me feel like an outcast in their boys club. I also discovered I wad under paid compared to my male coleages. The most condescending people got promoted without doing any actual work.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the experience you had was negative. We strive for diversity and inclusion in our teams and departments, in fact, the Senior Vice President of Engineering is female, and we intend to continue to build gender diversity going forward. We do not tolerate discrimination or exclusion of any kind. Thank you.

Values… what values?

Pros

They have some genuine and honest people working there who add real value.

Cons

Where do I begin! The key to being a leader is recognising that it’s not just you who causes a company to have successful moments… it’s the TEAM under you who actually do the work. It’s a shame Sam the CEO doesn’t seem to realise that as despite the successes with the product stack, the culture and lack of any embedded values makes OwnBackup easily the worst place I’ve ever worked. The company spent all of 2022 over hiring in any and every department, irrespective of quality or need and then decided to make a huge % of the workforce redundant in November without any warning! This is after spending a huge amount of money taking the entire company to Vegas in July. Talk about a misalignment of priorities! The company preaches about values but runs the offices like high school (you’re either in the cool crowd or you aren’t) and they recently hired a new CPO who bangs on about being in the office, yet lives in Boston and works remotely! Nobody in that organisation at c-level could run a tap, nevermind a global tech company and I feel sorry for the staff who are left!

Thank you for your feedback. We believe our office spaces, and company offsite events are imperative and provide the time and setting for valuable conversations to take place and relationships to flourish. Conversation, connection, and relationships are also why we find it so important to have our workforce back in the office. There is simply no replacement for human connection and the culture it produces. Although the decision to realign the organization was extremely challenging, we remain extremely positive about our future. Thank you.

Pros

Great product. Customers seem to really like the solution for Salesforce at least.

Cons

Management thought our expansion into additional clouds was going to really take off so they tripled the size of the sales team and other departments. Territories shrunk but Reps kept the same quota. Because management was so off with the forecasts they needed to let go of some great employees. The severance package was a complete joke. If you got fired for being bad at your job a few months ago you got triple the amount of severance compared to letting people go because management messed up. No one from HR responded to our email questions basically forcing you to sign the separation agreement out of stressed that your not going to get anything.

Thank you for your feedback. At OwnBackup, one of our core values is, “We care about everything we do.” This was at the top of mind when we made the difficult decision to realign the organization. Our HR team took great time, care, and compassion while having difficult conversations with every person affected. We closed our offices globally in order to give those affected privacy and dignity, and offered a severance package to each employee. We apologize if a question you had went unanswered. Please feel free to reach out to obquestions@ownbackup.com if you have any remaining questions or thoughts. Thank you.
