Not bad for a first job

Pros

They have great opportunities for training if you want to learn. Also, they encourage suggestions for process improvements. Their benefits are some of the best I have seen. The tuition reimbursement is helpful if you decide to use it.

Cons

They care more about how long you've been with the company than your performance or what you have to offer. I find it difficult to attempt to interview for different departments. The starting pay is below average for the industry (which is probably why their benefits are better).

Pros

Paychex sales training at Rochester is second to none! Lot's of team building, positive reinforcement and real world application. Benefits package is great! Great place for entry level salespeople to gain experience.

Cons

After sales training is complete you are put in the field and expected to produce with little or no follow up insurance training. My DSM was not much help in gaining the ongoing education necessary to be successful in this position. As soon as you are not producing at quota, it gets ugly!!! Process and procedures are constantly changing which makes it difficult get into a groove. The activity level expected by management is counter productive to servicing new clients. This job is NOT about life balance!!!! The agency is a work in progress and maybe someday they will get it right.

Pros

Great resources, unmatched sales training. The office atmosphere is great and if you're lucky you get to be a part of a fun team.

Cons

The base salary could be a little bit more competitve, but the commission and bonus opportunities kind of balance that out.
