Pros

Remote work and Flexible Time Off

Cons

Low pay. Minimal to no career growth. Constant leadership turnover. Conflicting priorities from the top with little strategic direction. Endless “do more with less” mentality and burnout. Mandatory culture and positivity “training” instead of fixing the problems creating poor culture. The company has become reactive, chaotic, and disconnected from the employees who keep it running. Current CEO drove down stock price and eradicated worker morale. Terrible leadership.

Pros

I have zero pros since John Gibson has taken over. He is running the company into the ground and has ZERO appreciation for any of the employees within Paychex.

Cons

Everything is being outsourced to India, and if you asked me that should be illegal to take away jobs from the country in which your company is in. Not to mention there has been a huge loss in how the company celebrates milestones and anniversaries. The company used to thrive on employee acknowledgment, and today you get nothing. Must be nice executives keep thriving and moving up while those doing the hard work are being laid off with very little severance. It’s just sad what Paychex has become.

Pros

I recently had the opportunity to grow from a Business Analyst into a Product Owner role, and I’m truly grateful for the support and trust I’ve received throughout that journey. Paychex provides a strong environment for learning, collaboration, and career growth, and this transition has been a great example of that. One thing I appreciate most is how closely the culture aligns with values like accountability, partnership, innovation, and doing the right thing for clients and each other. In my experience, teams are supportive, leaders are approachable, and there are meaningful opportunities to take ownership and grow professionally.

Cons

More employee benefits are needed.
