Pros

Excellent benefits, nice PCs and laptops, clean and well maintained offices, mostly friendly people. Not very demanding. If you keep your head down, get your work done exactly as assigned without comment, it's a job for life.

Cons

An absurd amount of meetings. Comfortable with status quo. Lots of red tape, bureaucratic, political. Kingdom builders and cliques can be alienating.

So much potential, very little leadership and management support

Pros

The mission at Philips is one the keeps people there.

Cons

So much opportunity and little investment in employees. They think hosting parties help motivate people but those people are working crazy hours and there is no help in sight. Very little work life balance. Little growth opportunity. Those in leadership do not listen to its employees and what is needed to truly transform.

Pros

Great work-life balance, great benefits, and an easy 9-5 pace.

Cons

There is a strong emphasis on many good ideas such as lean processes, good quality, teamwork, etc.. However, the execution of such ideas falls flat due to a lack of strong leadership skills from the management. As an example, many projects are run as teams. However, without a project manager, resources become scarce, schedules stretch out, and morale slips as confusion of a lack of roles and responsibilities sets in. High turnover has also been a problem. Constantly losing employees decreases morale, internal knowledge is lost, making it harder for new employees to navigate the corporation, and indicates a wider systemic problem with the culture and business.
