Pros

Alright for a first job... Some supervisors were very nice

Cons

VERY low pay Forced to stand in one place for 8+ hours which kills your feet Not allowed water despite the fact that the air conditioning doesn't work (except for in the managers offices conveniently) I was FORCED to do overtime at Christmas despite the fact that I clearly stated I wasn't free No discount Staff facilities very poor (menstual blood on toilet cubicle wall from when I started to when I left) Not even a water fountain on site Customers incredibly rude, like animals almost Sized down my uniform and refused to change it Left you dreading to come into work

Pros

Always busy, even on quiet days (worked at Trinity Leeds store). Had a lot of recognition from management. Always opportunities for overtime. Staff were generally friendly and easy to talk to. The company will try to progress staff members up their own ladder before advertising externally, so generally good progression opportunities. Free uniform (t-shirts and fleeces, how many you're entitled to depends on your hours). The uniform is better now too, dark/black jeans, black comfy shoes (can be vans/converse etc) and the tshirt.

Cons

No discount! I know their products are cheap but discount is such a good incentive for people to work for any company, even 10% would be better than nothing. Randomly assigned a department, so work varies depending on how big your department was and how many people worked on it. I worked on the health and beauty department on my own during my shift and found that I'd have loads of little projects to do each day. Having done overtime on womenswear and men's, the work is repetitive and you'll often spend your time doing the same thing, recovery and returns.
